2010 Member Letter

As our industry begins the journey into 2010, we recognize that you face the most challenging times experienced by a generation of Idaho dealers and there’s never been a more important time for involvement in your association. And in times like these, the impact IADA has on the process in effectively representing dealers can make the difference whether or not a dealership is viable. It is important to acknowledge that IADA is looking out for your dealer operations, day-in and day-out. Today at IADA, we are:

• Lobbying for passage of franchise law improvements
• Representing dealer viewpoints before state regulatory agencies
• Fighting to reduce service contract advertising abuses
• Reducing liability through retail installment contract enhancements
• Developing cost effective dealership certification & education classes
• Negotiating changes in compliance guidelines for reduced liability
• Identifying effective providers for affordable products and services
• Providing competitive F&I products for greater dealer profitability
• Improving the value, quality and timeliness of dealer communications
• Lowering the cost of stock & promotional items through competitive pricing

IADA is also very excited about our upcoming legislative session at the Idaho statehouse. 2010 will be a critical election year. Those elected this year will have a huge impact on the way you do business for the next 8 years. Through our state AUTOPAC, we will be focusing on assisting those candidates who believe in a healthy business environment and support the free enterprise system. Contributions to AUTOPAC are accepted from all members and when you make a contribution to AUTOPAC you will know you have made a sound investment in Idaho’s future and our auto industry climate.

Lastly President Gregg Middlekauff is pleased to announce that our 2010 IADA convention will take place in Sun Valley, Idaho June 13- 16. All members are encouraged to attend our annual convention where we will bring together many of Idaho dealers, allied companies and manufacturer speakers to share ideas, product information and industry knowledge. I look forward to seeing you there!
