IADA Hires Kevin Hanigan as New Executive Vice Pre

Hanigan replaces Trent Wright, who led the IADA for many years and recently was named the President & CEO of the Idaho Bankers Association. Kevin began his tenure with the IADA last week and has already attended the Automotive Trade Association Executive (ATAE) organization's annual meeting just prior to the NADA Convention in San Francisco last week.

Hanigan graduated from the University of Idaho with a B.S. in Finance prior to a management & banking career in Portland, Oregon. Enticed to Idaho by his family's automobile dealership in the mid '90's, Kevin served as a finance manager, sales manager and progressed to the general manager and co-owner role at the Hanigan's two GM dealerships in Payette, Idaho, and Ontario, Oregon. During his tenure at the dealerships, Kevin graduated from the NADA Dealer Academy and served on the IADA Board of Directors from 2009 until 2012, where he served one term as President. He has been active in several community and local organizations for many years, including 10 years as a planning and zoning commissioner for the City of Payette and as chairperson of his local church's building and fundraising projects. Kevin decided to pursue another opportunity outside the dealership and very amicably ended his partnership with his brother, Mike Hanigan, in 2012. He served in an executive management position with a local fuel distributor.   But the car business he grew up in and worked in for so many years was a strong draw and Kevin decided to pursue this opportunity. Hanigan currently lives in Payette with his wife of 21 years, Anne, and their three children, Sophie, Jack, and Grace.

In his role, Hanigan will lead the IADA as it continues to pursue its mission of improving, enhancing, and growing the automobile industry in Idaho. The IADA provides programs, products, and services to and for vehicle dealers, including the Dealer Intelligence registration reports, the iDealer Supplies store of forms and dealer products, the annual convention (this year held at Shore Lodge in McCall June 7-10), and many other events to further strengthen the association and all dealers in Idaho. Immediately, Hanigan began working on drafting legislation that improves the language used in dealer franchise laws in Idaho. He will lead this charge with board members and other dealers by lobbying the state legislature during this current session.

Please join us in congratulating and welcoming Kevin Hanigan as our new Executive Vice President. We have big expectations that Kevin will do great things for the automobile industry here in the great state of Idaho.
